This Excelleration™event is designed to heighten awareness of some of the most important insurance coverage issues faced by affluent individuals. Protecting personal wealth from an investment/estate planning standpoint is important, but there are many insurance gaps that often go overlooked which could put a financial future at risk if not properly managed. The appropriate insurance coverage through a qualified property/casualty agent is critically important to protecting net worth.

This seminar will give greater understanding of the surety underwriting process and how you can position your company to establish and maintain an effective surety relationship. Our guest speakers will include Peter A.Thomson, CPA, ASFB & John Reed, CPA. Mr. Thomson, Director of Construction Services with Lykes Insurance, specializes in construction surety bonding and holds the Associate in Fidelity & Surety Bond designation. Mr.Reed, a CPA and Principal with Larson Allen LLP, practices exclusively in the construction industry and regularly consults with clients on their tax methods & strategies, accounting systems & business strategy.
The November Excelleration™will bring you some current “Hot Topics” in Employment Law: ADA, FMLA, & Florida Workers’ Compensation Act.Information will also be presented on managing Workers’ Compensation Risks toprovide employers with assistance and the necessary tools to aid in proper handling of a workers’ compensation claim from beginning to end.This will be followed by an enlightening discussion of thepotential risks for employees using their cell phones and PDA’s while behind the wheel and the liability this could create for employers.A question and answer session will be conducted during lunch. Note that HRCI credits are approved for PHR, SPHR,GPHR.

The OSHA Construction Standards Training Course is ideal for all construction workers, including project managers, superintendents, and owners. Those participants completing the course will receive the OSHA 10 Hour completion card. Licensed Construction Contractors completing the course will also receive 1 hour of WPS and 9 hours of general continuing education credit hours (Course #0010601).The course topics will include an introduction to OSHA, electrical safety, fall protection, materials handling, tools & equipment, scaffolding, stairways/ladders, personal protective equipment (PPE), excavation, trenching and shoring and Hazcom.
